Delivering prescribed pills to seniors in Slovakia

The goal of the civic association Medicamentum is to improve healthcare in Slovakia. It is a unique and free service that provides its clients with easy and reliable access to medications without the need to leave the comfort of their homes.

The project was interesting to me primarily from the perspective of untested hypotheses and the myriad of possible solutions.

Solution

In the project, I used the Double Diamond methodology to identify user needs related to the process of acquiring prescription medications. Double Diamond is a powerful technique that helps me enhance the design process, product development, and provides the entire team with a framework for practical design methods such as user stories, impact mapping, customer journeys, and persona profiling.

I conducted extensive research, including interviews, observations, and surveys, and in later stages, workshops on the prototype. This allowed me to better understand user needs. The result was several prototypes that we tested with users and iteratively improved based on their feedback.

To accelerate time to market, we chose to introduce the product gradually, starting with friends and family, then targeting the first persona showing the highest level of early adopters in tests. We expanded the resulting service based on real feedback from clients, business representatives, and ongoing tests. This approach improved the conversion path by 106% and reduced the bounce rate by 54%.
